A couple of days ago my debut album was released worldwide. I was going to write about my feelings on the matter, but in truth it is now out of my hands. I am proud of this album, any negative or positive reviews won't effect this. It has been a long hard slog to reach this point. I know I did my best against a stack of odds no matter the outcome.

Ok here's the spiel:

Sofie Jude and her co collaborator Barry Dallman, Composer and joint producer, form the unlikely partnership of a jazz musician and a classical theatrical singer. By channeling contrasting musical outlooks, their collaborative dynamic has forged highly crafted melodies and harmonies, taking the best from a variety of influences; including rock, alternative and blues, and honing them into a stand-alone genre-defying album. Sofie’s lyrical ability blends with the distinct movie like musical score, painting a poignant illustration of life and the personal challenges involved. It is a ballsy mix of cynical humour, deep reflection and emotional highs and lows. By her own admission she leave no stone unturned. Gathering the best sessions musicians Liverpool had to offer, the album was recorded at the prestigious Parr Street Studio in Liverpool. The sophistication and quality shines throughout the project.

At an epic 50 minutes ‘My Elusive Heart’ is soulful and mesmerising. By focusing on the pure sound of real instrumentation, Sofie Jude's startling immense voice is highlighted throughout, making it an unforgettable album.
